BUSINESS EXPERIENCE: FIREBIRD 360

In November 2022, I co-founded Firebird 360, a software company, alongside my father (Peter Wyatt). This venture was born out of a shared interest in the technology sector, following the successful sale of my father’s previous company. We are building a software platform to collect, manage, distribute, and monetize data. We are expecting to go to market later this year with our first product.

My involvement in Firebird 360 was not only a move to complement my MBA education, but also a personal endeavor to cultivate an entrepreneurial mindset. Throughout this journey, I significantly enhanced my design thinking capabilities. I acquired proficiency in a range of software tools, including Jira, Figma, Confluence, Microsoft Teams, and Lucid, in order to develop our brand and products.

The most profound insight from this experience was gaining a comprehensive understanding of the complexities involved in building a successful company. For me, it highlighted the importance of developing a vision and core values at the beginning of the process. My experience gave me a deep appreciation for the dedication required to turn a vision into reality.

CAREER HIGHLIGHT

A standout career highlight from my time with Firebird 360 was the execution of our intensive Firebird hackathons. During multiple one-week periods, our team engaged in 12-hour workdays, fostering a spirit of collaboration and innovation to produce outstanding results. Among my contributions were spearheading the development of our website (in just a weekend), crafting a detailed company timeline, refining UI designs with meticulous attention to design thinking, formulating our team’s mission and values, and offering support to our software developers, Peter Wyatt and Sean Lippert.
